I Need Alterations on Formalwear:
What should I know?

There are lots of people who used to sew in our surrounding communities, but most of them have retired. Because of that, there are way more people who want sewing services than there are people like us who can do the work.

Since Sewing by Carolyn has been rocking the business world for over three decades, it's absolutely crucial for us to find a way to balance work and play, or we'll never catch a wink of sleep! This is why we need an official reservation list for all items with a due date. 

Shop Rules: Look for these boxes on the upcoming pages.

• Wedding services (like flowers, catering, venues, alterations, etc) are usually done by reservations.
• Reservations are often made 2 years in advance! 
• At least 15 experienced sewists have retired in the last 5 years. 
• There are some new alterations places, but not enough to fill the shoes of the folks that retired.
• The Knot (dot com) tells us there is a wedding boom of 1/2 a million more weddings than in previous years (even pre-covid years.) 

We often have customers who come to us and say, "I know how to sew, but I could never do... this!" They're usually pointing at all the stunning formalwear we have in the shop.
